What to expect when you arrive
I know how intimidating it can be to start therapy. You are not alone, and it’s ok to be nervous!
*Paperwork for services will be sent prior to the start of your first session. Please have all paperwork completed before the scheduled time. If it isn’t completed by the start of our session, the session may need to be rescheduled.
When you arrive for your first session, you head to the door at 6131 Stoney Creek Drive. There will be a small waiting room for you to sit in while you wait for me to come and get you. I will walk you back to my office space. There, you can relax on the couch and take your shoes off (only if you want to). The first session involves questions, yes, but also it’s just a chance for us to get to know each other. There is no pressure, no right or wrong answers- it’s ok to go at your own pace, and I will follow. I like to make the space as homey and inviting as possible, and I am very relational-focused as a therapist, so I like to make it as personable and comfortable as possible for you. We will talk about goals and how often you’d like to come in for therapy sessions. About 5-10 minutes before the end of our session, we can talk about rescheduling if you feel like you liked the vibe.
I have created a visual guide below of how to find my office, and what it all looks like.
